NEW Nature-fil Bamboo Batting

We are very excited and proud to bring you our innovative Bamboo Batting; a blend of 50% naturally antibacterial bamboo fiber and 50% organic cotton. This unique bamboo/cotton blend is luxuriously soft and supple to the touch, with excellent loft and it's thin scrim makes it perfect for machine quilting.

Poly-fil Bonded Batting

These bonded battings maintain a consistent loft through years of repeated washings. A graph showing the batting loft is printed on each bag. The 100% polyester is perfect for either hand or machine quilting. It is non-allergenic, with recommended quilting distances between 2"-4". Poly-fil bonded battings are packaged in precut sizes and are also available rolled on a tube.

Cotton Batting

Cotton batting has a very low loft that allows the home crafter and quilter to achieve a finished product that has an antique look. Cotton has a wonderful drape and a soft hand. There is no scrim to interfere with needling, and its low loft makes it an ideal choice to achieve the finest quilting stitches. These non-woven battings have great stability and are built to stand the test of time. Cotton "breathes" - creating a cooling effect in the summer and natural warmth in the winter. Cotton/Polyester Blends

Fairfield offers two battings that are made with a cotton and polyester blend. Machine 60/40 Blend® is constructed of 60% cotton and 40% special blend polyester. Quilter's 80/20 is made with an 80% cotton and 20% polyester combination. These special blends perform like cotton battings but also achieve the wonderful attributes that only polyester battings offer.

Needlepunched Batting

Poly-fil needlepunched batting is created when thousands of tiny barbed needles interlock the polyester fiber for a blanket quality consistency. This produces a batting that is easy-to-handle, drapes well and can be quilted by hand or machine. This batting is great for all quilts that require repeated washings and for home decor. This 100% premium polyester is non-allergenic, and is available in precut bed sizes or rolled on a tube.

Quilter's 80/20 Batting

Quilter's 80/20 is a blend of 80% unbleached cotton and 20% polyester. It has a low loft and is great for hand or machine quilting. Like our other cottons, this batting will give a beautiful antique look to your finished quilt. Quilter's 80/20 yields a 2% shrinkage, but it may be pre-soak if no shrinkage is desired.
