Summer is in full swing.  Maybe you have already taken your summer vacation or you have plans to get away this month.  Have you ever considered taking a quilting/crafting vacation in your own sewing room at home?   Take a long weekend and devote it to yourself and to your projects.  Start on your holiday items or finish up that quilt you've been meaning to get back to.  Taking a quilting/sewing vacation is easy, inexpensive, much needed and traffic free!

 
 

IN THE NEIGHBORHOOD

On Monday, July 9 th , the Village Square Quilters began their summer '07 project, “Teaching Teenagers Quilting.”

The main objective of this project is to teach the art

of quilt-making to teenagers whose family background would be less likely to pay for expensive summer camp.

The teenagers will create quilts that they will have an opportunity to present to Leake & Watts Home for less fortunate children.

Go Green!  We have all heard about the hybrid cars and organic foods.  Now the craft industry has joined the global green initiative.  Take notice of all the craft manufactures doing there part for the environment.  Let's support them!   

Hopefully this will be a trend that sticks.
