APRIL SHOWERS BRING MAY FLOWERS

What is so bad about a little rain in April, a rainy day is the perfect excuse to stay indoors and finish a project.

What is going on in April? Think locally, lots of organizations are starting their craft fairs and most quilt guilds hold a spring show. Go! Explore, you never know what you might find or learn. Plus, it's a great place to meet people with the same interests.

Earth Day – April 22 - A day to raise awareness and appreciation for the Earth. Make a special project with your children or grandchildren using our Nautre-fil product and explain why saving the planet is so important.

Pet Owners Day - April 18 - A day to celebrate being a pet owner, to remember how much joy your pets bring to your life and how much they are truly part of the family. Give them a treat and re-fill your dog or cat bed with poly-fil or NU-Foam or better yet, both! Check back next month for a pet bed pattern.

Tax Day – April 15 - The Dreaded Day has come, make sure you have filed correctly.
 

IN THE NEIGHBORHOOD

When a mother of three young girls was diagnosed with brest cancer, the entire family learned what it meant to be a survivor and what kind of courage it takes to conquer this disease.

That is exactly how these three young ladies came up with "Goldie's Angels." The girls organized a group of people

This gracious service project has made the girls hometown heroes and has gained notoriety for the girls and their efforts. One of the girls was asked to speak to her school about the rewards of such a selfless act. "Overcoming this obstacle in my life has made me a much stronger person. I have come to realize that you can't sweat the little things in life. You have to live each and every day and take none of it for granted. Jump ahead, you can make a difference in the lives of others. If you are ever affected by something similar to what slowed down my life, know that people who are giving of themselves will help you in your time of need, just as they did for me."

Dining Room Decor

Quilts are an easy way to change the ambiance in your dining room to coordinate with each season or holiday. This is an inexpensive way to continually update your dining decor. Match table linens and centerpieces to the wall hanging. Try it and you'll discover that is also makes a wonderful conversation piece at the dinner table.

 

Did you know that small animals that hibernate are usually coming out of their burrows in April. The birds fly back northward or they settle down to have their families. The bees and butterflies begin to gather nectar from the first flowers of the season.

Quick Tip: Adding poly-pellets (a weighted stuffing material) to the Bunny's bottom and feet will help Betty's posture by making her sit nicely.
